Objective of job
• Ensure up-to date China market, competitor and automotive regulations monitoring, resulting in accurate short-, mid- and long-term market forecasting. Drive an co-ordinate MBCL reporting processes, research activities and internal knowledge sharing. Responsible for co-ordination with BBDC. Drive strategic development and direction of MBCL within overall DAG strategic processes. Initiate, plan and support implementation of new MBC business area projects (e.g. fleet, used Car) and develop overall project management capabilities within MBCL. Drive BD team build-up and personnel development.
• Implementation of strategic programs with impact on the whole MPC, (e.g. Daimler Excellence) or within cross functional focus (e.g. AMG-Strategy, NSO or WSP). Co-ordination and monitoring of the appropriate activities set-up MPC specific projects or programs to improve culture, performance or infrastructure.
• Develop potential new business concept or opportunities
Job designation
1. Corporate Strategy
- Work on the corporate strategy with various functions to ensure MBCL long term achievements
- Follow up with various teams with their strategies
- Drive strategic development and direction of MBCL, participation in DAG strategic planning processes and ensuring MB China interests.

2. New business areas
- Develop new business concept or explore new business opportunities, conduct market research or feasibility studies to ensure the new businesses are applicable for the Chinese market
- Work with management consultancies if necessary
- Work with Daimler Headquarter respective departments if necessary
- Initiate, plan and drive/support implementation of MBC business areas projects (e.g. Financial Services) and implementation of strategic programs (e.g. Financial Services, AMG-Strategy, NSO or WSP)
- Development and plan IT-concept for MBCL
- Development of overall Project Management capabilities within MBCL through development of Project Management tools and training
- Set-up and maintenance of overall Sales & Marketing Project Monitor

3. Market monitoring
- Build up a market intelligence system with all market, industry and competitor information
- Conduct and ensure up-to-date China market, competitor and automotive regulations monitoring. Collection of market specific information.
- Monitoring of CO2-relevant development of technologies and competitors, observation of political ans social parameters together with the corresponding deportments.
- Ensure accurate short-, mid- and long-term Chinese market forecasting according to DAG definitions and timelines.

4. BBDC Co-ordination
- Ensure accurate short-, mid- and long-term Chinese market forecasting according to DAG definitions and timelines.
- Interface for related issues towards BBDC and co-ordinate of BBDC / MBCL committees.
- Drive team-building and personnel development

5. Organization MBCL, Planning, Reporting and Knowledge Management
- Drive and organize long-term team development of MBCL.
- Designing of company specific change- and strategy meetings.
- Preparation and co-ordination of MBCL Board Meetings.
- Drive and co-ordinate Sales & Marketing activities: agenda setting, meeting preparation, project follow-up & status reporting.
- Installation and development of a stringent Quality Management System.
- Drive and co-ordinate MBCL planning processes, research activities and internal knowledge sharing.
Qualification required
Skills –general skills, personality traits:
- Proficient in both Chinese and English (both written and verbal)
- Strong coordination skills
- Self motivated
- Team player but can also work independently
- Good interpersonal and communication skills

Functionality Skills – Process and technical skills:
- Familiar with MS Office software

Experience and education:
- Minimum of three years working experience is preferred
- Bachelor and/or University degree in Business Administration / International Management
- Substantial international automotive industry experience
- Strong background in cross-functional and international Project Management and Process-Management
- Experience in leading cross-functional and multicultural teams

Mgt and leadership skills:
- Strong leadership skill is required
- Highly analytical and strategic thinking
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Experience from highly dynamic and fast developing international business environments
