Education opens up opportunities to develop potential and knowledge -- and one can benefit for life from a good education. Daimler and Mercedes-Benz are dedicated to support educational needs in China. Over the years, they have been actively working with top tertiary institutions, such as offering scholarship programs as well as providing exchange and career development opportunities to develop students with potential. Further attention was also paid to education and all-round development needs for underprivileged children in rural areas. On May 9, 2010, two years after the Sichuan earthquake, the construction for the Mercedes-Benz Elementary School in Shifang sponsored by Daimler was completed. Furthermore, Mercedes-Benz "Inspiring the Future" Project Hope Happy Music Classroom Program, the new initiative under Mercedes-Benz Star Fund, was launched to build music classrooms in 125 Hope Schools and bring the beautiful sound of music to over 40,000 students across China. This also demonstrated the long-term commitment of Daimler and Mercedes-Benz towards education development in China.
