The year 2007 represents a great milestone in sales for Mercedes-Benz brand vehicles. In mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau, Mercedes-Benz posts its best sales year ever, with 30,600 cars delivered to customers, an increase jumping by nearly 50% year-on-year.
The S-Class in particular is successfully maintaining its strong lead position as the best-selling luxury sedan. With 11,500 units sold in 2007, the S-Class once again clearly outpaced its main competitors, and China maintains the second biggest S-Class market worldwide next to USA.
The new Mercedes-Benz C-Class got off to an outstanding start in 2007. Following worldwide success, the all new C-Class reshuffled the middle luxury car segment in China. Foreseeing an even brighter future for Mercedes-Benz's youngest offering in the world's fastest growing auto market, the new C-Class already started collecting sales results, with over 2,000 cars sold within two months of its national launch.
With poise and elegance, the E-Class possesses a wealth of luxuries that are increasingly appealing Chinese audiences, evidenced by mounting sales in the past year.
Demand also continues to be very strong for SUVs and Niche models from Mercedes-Benz. Despite the competition in the SUV segment, sales of Mercedes-Benz SUVs achieve a breakthrough of 3,000 units with a sharp rise of 90%, which contributes significantly to this celebratory year for Mercedes-Benz in the China market. |
