On 8th Nov, after 20 days' long-distance trudge, the fleet consisting of 36 Mercedes-Benz New Generation E-Class sedans finally arrived at China. The fleet just crossed the Chinese border in Yining, Xinjiang, which is the 9th and the last country it passed by en route. More importantly, the New Generation E-Class made its appearance in China market, and unveils to the public. The localization of this vehicle is officially marching into its countdown period until now.
Compared to its predecessors, the New Generation E-Class takes on more than 2,000 enhancements, including the sportier exterior that is equally balanced as before. As the newly developed model of Mercedes-Benz, the New Generation E-Class applies most of the cutting-edge technologies inclusive of PRE-SAFE, NECK-PRO and DIRECT CONTROL, which can only be seen in S-Class before. These new technologies turn the New Generation E-Class the safest and most advanced administrative car over the comparable models. The cutting-edge technologies and the humanized design assure the top position over its competitors. This superiority is backed by its market performance: the E-Class has achieved a sales amount of over 1 million. The market share of 2005 in Western Europe, 30% numerically, also ranked No.1.
To celebrate the victorious entry of the New Generation E-Class fleet into China, a welcome ceremony will be held at the Mercedes-Benz showroom in Urumqi on Nov.9th. Li Yundi, the shining star among the world's famous and talented pianists, will be invited to the ceremony. He is going to intoxicate every participant by presenting with the elegant-and-powerful music. As the melody flowing out through his fingers, the E-Class convoy will be marching to the showroom. The cars might be in full of dust from the journey, but it doesn't prevent them from displaying their great charm and spirit with challenge and excellence.
Before its entry into China, the fleet has covered a distance of 300,000 km within 18 days, during which numerous of extreme challenges, such as freezing weather, heavy snow, polar night and complicated traffic, have been all accomplished. With this automotive marathon, Mercedes-Benz is once again demonstrating the capabilities of its latest technology with respect to emissions, economy and operating range, even under the most extreme conditions. From 10th Nov, the fleet is going to continue its challenge, spanning across Hami, Jiayuguan, and finally reaching Lanzhou, capital of Gansu Province. Following a one-day break on 12th Nov, the fleet, passing Wuhai, Huhhot and Badaling, will head for its final destination - Beijing. The arrival date is schedule to be 17th Nov.
After its arrival in Beijing, the localized new generation E-Class will be displayed at Auto China Mercedes-Benz stand on 18th Nov. Together with other models, they will unfold the Mercedes-Benz's tradition, innovative spirit and technological leadership. |
