Every trip is a pleasure, whether the power comes from a V6 or a V8 petrol engine, because you enjoy every imaginable comfort. Size and a dynamic character are no longer mutually exclusive. The R-Class combines both in an exciting design which embodies a new vehicle concept from Mercedes-Benz: the Grand Sports Tourer - a car that offers six people more driving pleasure than ever before.
Design
New and distinctive bodystyling underlines the sporty highlights of the R-Class. These include the standard-specification 18-inch alloy wheels and round fog lamps with chrome surrounds. The two-tone interior features exclusive leather (nappa leather is available as an option).
Space concept
Underlying the Grand Sports Tourer's spacious interior is a new design concept. Unlike conventional saloons with a three-box layout (engine compartment/interior/boot), the R-Class is based on a two-box design concept (engine compartment/interior).
7G-Tronic
7G-TRONIC represents a major step forward in transmission design, taking shifting comfort to a whole new level. Seven forward speeds offer all the benefits of close-ratio configuration: for example gear changes are almost imperceptible.
