New Mercedes-Benz Long Wheelbase E-Class is equipped with a newly designed M271 Evo CGI gasoline direct injection engine. The second CGI gasoline direct injection engine can prominently reduce fuel consumption by up to 10% while significantly increasing output power. Compared with inlet injection system, this system can effectively improve energy efficiency. Engine R&D personnel also adopt intelligent heat management system to prevent the coolant going through the cylinder when engine is in cool status, thus the engine's combustion chamber can be heated up rapidly when in need, which further reduces fuel consumption.
The newly-designed CGI Turbocharged Direct Injection engine is the most efficient engine at present and leads the trend and direction in auto design. Aluminum 1.8-liter inline four-cylinder CGI engine which has adopted variable valve technology, high-pressure turbo and fixed gasoline direct injection technology allows the output power of E 260 L CGI reach 150 kW and 310 Nm and the accelerating time for 100km only need 8.6 seconds by dynamic adjustment, providing new options to the consumers who love dynamic driving.
